The Global Village: What happened to it?

Just what exactly happened to the Global Village? How comes I haven't heard this term in about a decade? Did it become the Global Metropolis?

What other terms are consigned to history?
  • Web 2.0?
  • Looksmart...

MVCScaffolding (and Grails)

I'm loving MVCScaffolding at the moment. For those of you aren't aware of this yet, then take a look at Steve Sanderson’s blog entry, Introduction: Scaffold your ASP.NET MVC 3 project with the MvcScaffolding package.

Whilst it's a great start, it isn't as straight forward as using Grails. I love Grails. However, with some further work MVCScaffolding will be indespensible. Especially if someone writes a decent NHibernate and Spark packages :-)

Iomega ix2-200 NAS and DLNA

I've recently purchased a iomega storcenter ix2-200 and have to say how pleased I've been with this NAS unit! Admittedly, I did have a small issue in setting the device up, but this was sorted. Bascially, whilst my laptop was attached to the home network wirelessly the NAS didn't want to be set up (in fact it couldn't be seen). Attached laptop to router via a network cable and it was visable allowing setup to continue. Thereafter, the unit was visable to devices that attached wirelessly, like the PS3, too. Anyway, I give the unit 5 stars.

Now I'm looking for DLNA (Digital Living Network Alliance) HiFi. I'm quite liking the Sony CMTMX750NI which appears to be a sweet DLNA enabled HiFi with Internet Radio and iPod dock.

Person Kanban Workshop & LeanKitKanban.com

I attended the Person Kanban Workshop at Skills Matter last week. It was here the that I was introduced to the fantastic LeanKitKanban.com. LeanKitKanban is a rather slick Kanban board (or boards if you don't use the personal edition which is FREE). I'd give LeanKitKanban.com 9/10 - Check it out!!!
